In the world of zombies and blunt-force trauma. The cast iron skillet is an easy-to-find household item that can give you chills.

While the physical world has its own solutions. The world of might can be harder to understand but is of no less importance. It is perhaps easier to understand in terms of FUD.

Fear, uncertainty, and doubt

Fear, uncertainty and doubt (often shortened to FUD) is a propaganda tactic used in sales, marketing, public relations, politics, polling and cults. FUD is generally a strategy to influence perception by disseminating negative and dubious or false information and a manifestation of the appeal to fear.

There is nothing to doubt with the cast iron skillet.  A cast iron skillet will do what a cast iron skillet will do.

So it is with a rock and the king's armor in the story of David and Goliath. Goliath was a giant who had been a warrior since his youth. He was trash-talking the Israeli army. Asking for an Israeli champion to settle the battle between the two sides. Instead of both sides going to war.

Champion warfare

Champion warfare refers to a type of battle, most commonly found in the epic poetry and myth of ancient history, in which the outcome of the conflict is determined by single combat, an individual duel between the best soldiers ("champions") from each opposing army. Champion warfare can also refer to a battle in which armies actually engage, but champions within the armies fight so effectively as to single-handedly carry the sway of battle, such as in the Iliad.

Champion warfare in literature

In the Bible, the battle between David and Goliath is an example of champion warfare. Group champion combat, where a certain number of champions from each side battle, also existed, as shown in the Battle of Gibeon, where General Abner, loyal to King Ish-bosheth, had twelve champions duel twelve warriors chosen from the ranks of King David's army by General Joab. (2 Samuel 2:12–17 describes the duels themselves.)

Goliath

The phrase "David and Goliath" has taken on a more popular meaning denoting an underdog situation, a contest wherein a smaller, weaker opponent faces a much bigger, stronger adversary.

This household item. You could say the house of the Lord. I am going to give my opinion on the armor of God or in other words the King's armor.

Ephesians 6:10-20 NIV Translation

The Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Stop there, do not pass go let's back up for a second. One of the things I tend to see about God in scripture is his sarcasm. Like it is fine for God to pay you a compliment but you should not think more of yourself than you should. Often there is always an out in the scripture to what is being discussed. Outs in scriptures! That is a bit of a statement. In the above passage, this guy declares himself an ambassador in chains to the mystery of the gospel and not a warrior.

Somebody else in chains is Paul.

Philippians 1:12-18

Paul’s Chains Advance the Gospel

12 Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters,[b] that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel. 13 As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard[c] and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. 14 And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear.

15 It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. 16 The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. 17 The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. 18 But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.

I am not sure what the opposite of FUD is: Faith, joy, love, peace, and abiding in the vine.  Yada, yada, yada

30 Pairs Of Bible Verses That Contradict One Another

A long, long time ago, I used to be a Christian. Then again, I also used to believe in Santa Claus. The thing that primarily killed my faith is that I read enough of The Bible to realize that it teemed with contradictions and thus couldn’t possibly have been divinely inspired, AKA the infallible words of a perfect God that was dictated to human transcribers.

Be United and Care for Each Other

Think about what we have in Christ: the encouragement he has brought us, the comfort of his love, our sharing in his Spirit, and the mercy and kindness he has shown us. If you enjoy these blessings, then do what will make my joy complete: Agree with each other, and show your love for each other. Be united in your goals and in the way you think. In whatever you do, don’t let selfishness or pride be your guide. Be humble, and honor others more than yourselves. Don’t be interested only in your own life, but care about the lives of others too.

Learn From Christ to Be Unselfish

In your life together, think the way Christ Jesus thought.

He was like God in every way,
but he did not think that his being equal with God was something to use for his own benefit.
Instead, he gave up everything, even his place with God.
He accepted the role of a servant, appearing in human form.
During his life as a man,
he humbled himself by being fully obedient to God,
even when that caused his death—death on a cross.
So God raised him up to the most important place
and gave him the name that is greater than any other name.
10 God did this so that every person will bow down to honor the name of Jesus.
Everyone in heaven, on earth, and under the earth will bow.
11 They will all confess, “Jesus Christ is Lord,”
and this will bring glory to God the Father.

What am I trying to get at I feel I have been going in circles with the scripture. I feel the armor of God is scripture and if you feel you are good enough to wear it and wield it that is up to you. There is a saying an experience beats an argument. You can say God does not answer prayer but if somebody has had their prayer answered they have an experience. It is pretty hard to shift them from that place. I often think the saying: The strength of youth and the wisdom of the aged. should be reversed, the wisdom of the youth (will try new things and are not locked into a set way of thinking) and the strength of the aged. ( try convincing somebody of old age set in their ways they need to try something new )

If that experience is predeterminism some of us might have better things to do than to waste time reading this post. ( Sorry, could not help myself, I guess I am writing to the free will crowd in the armor of God)

Predeterminism Is The Only Way To Fly

There are lots of different verses in the bible that people can apply to be their governing voice if you will. I find some Christians will also try to imply that you should follow what they believe and the way they believe it. The number of 40,000 denominations is the definition of people disagreeing. If you like to argue Christianity is a great place to be. (I will probably get into trouble for saying that. Have a great day)

Predeterminism

Predeterminism is the philosophy that all events of history, past, present and future, have been already decided or are already known (by God, fate, or some other force), including human actions.
