Zelensky slams Arab leaders

The Ukrainian president accused some states of “turning a blind eye” to Ukraine's plight

Without mentioning any names, Zelensky remarked that some attendees “have a different view on the war on our land.”

“Unfortunately, there are some in the world and here, among you, who turn a blind eye to [prisoner of war] cages and illegal annexations,” the president insisted. “I am here so that everyone can take an honest look. No matter how hard the Russians try to influence [others], there must still be independence.”

Little Russia

Little Russia is a geographical and historical term used to describe the modern-day territories of Ukraine.

The first use of such names has been attributed to Yuri II Boleslav, the ruler of the Ruthenian Kingdom of Galicia–Volhynia. In 1335, he signed his decrees Dux totius Russiæ minoris.[1] The distinction between "Great" and "Little" Rus' probably originated among Byzantine, Greek-speaking, clerics who wanted to separate the two Ruthenian ecclesiastical metropolises of Halych and Moscow.

The name "Little Rus'/Russia" went out of use in the late 15th century.[2] It was revived again in late 18th century. Then "Little Russia" developed into a political and geographical concept in Russia, referring to most of the territory of modern-day Ukraine, especially the territory of the Cossack Hetmanate. Accordingly, derivatives such as "Little Russian" (Russian: Малоросс, romanizedMaloross)[a] were commonly applied to the people, language, and culture of the area. A large part of the region's élite population adopted a Little Russian identity that competed with the local Ukrainian identity. The territories of modern-day southern Ukraine, after being annexed by Russia in the 18th century, became known as Novorossiya ("New Russia").

Great Russia

Great Russia, sometimes Great Rus' (Russian: Великая Русь, Velikaya Rus', Великая Россия, Velikaya Rossiya, Великороссия, Velikorossiya), is a name formerly applied to the territories of "Russia proper", the land that formed the core of Muscovy and later Russia. This was the land to which the ethnic Russians were native and where the ethnogenesis of (Great) Russians took place. The name is said to have come from the Greek Μεγάλη Ῥωσ(σ)ία, Megálē Rhōs(s)ía[1] used by Byzantines for the northern part of the lands of Rus'.

From 1654–1721, Russian Tsars adopted the word - their official title included the wording (literal translation): "The Sovereign of all Rus': the Great, the Little, and the White".
