Number 6 Pick-Up Sticks

Numbers 24:17-18 I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob; a scepter will rise out of Israel. He will crush the foreheads of Moab, the skulls of all the people of Sheth. Edom will be conquered; Seir, his enemy, will be conquered, but Israel will grow strong.

If you like a coincidence Numbers 24:17 2+4 = 6. Jesus was called the son of David 17 times in the New Testament and the star of David is a six-pointed star. Revelation 22:16 I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star. The word root out of Revelation 22:16 is also used in the New Testament 17 times.

In the King James Version the Book of Psalms 110:4 names Melchizedek as representative of the priestly line through which a future king of Israel’s Davidic line was ordained. Psalm 110:4 The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind: “You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

I have often wondered about some of the references Jesus got and why the constant referencing to that point in the timeline of Israel with David (Jesus is the son of David). It has only been recently that I suspect that this is around the point in time that the priesthood started to be changed and a new covenant will be slowly introduced. Psalm 110 hints at that whole change with Melchizedek and with the scepter. Take a look at Psalm 110:2 The Lord will extend your mighty scepter from Zion, saying, “Rule in the midst of your enemies!”. Psalm 110 is the most referenced and quoted Psalm in the New Testament

I think this helps explain Hebrew 7 and in particular Hebrews 7:12 For when the priesthood is changed, the law must be changed also. With Psalm 110 It looks like that change began around the time of David, There is something else interesting with the number 6 the vav. In Hebrew, each letter must be written according to standards. In Genesis 2:4 the word generations is spelled with a vav missing then when we get to Ruth 4:18 it is spelled correctly with the vav restored. Ruth 4:18 is considered in the text as The Genealogy of David.
