While Trump said he could end the war in 24 hours even before he took office. The current number of sanctions on Russia is over 21,000 since the Ukraine proxy war. The link for the Russian Sanction Dashboard below has a bit of a breakdown of those sanctions. Trump seems instead of cutting the gravy train of weapons and money to Ukraine to choke the supply line has decided to issue a veiled threat to Russia of more sanctions if they don't end the war. "We can do it the easy way, or the hard way" Oh I can just imagine how well that went down and what the counteroffer might be after 400, 000 Russian soldiers have died (the number varies by who is doing the reporting) by the U.S led proxy war with weapons and a U.S administration. Anyway, more sanctions and tariffs will fix the problem.

22 Jan 2025 - Trump admits love for Russian people and offers Putin ‘a deal’

“All of that being said, I’m going to do Russia, whose Economy is failing, and President Putin, a very big FAVOR. Settle now, and STOP this ridiculous War! IT’S ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE,” Trump asserted.

Should no “deal” on the matter materialize “soon” enough, Trump would “have no other choice but to put high levels of Taxes, Tariffs, and Sanctions on anything being sold by Russia to the United States, and various other participating countries.” The US president also reiterated that the Russia-Ukraine conflict “never would have started” if he had been in office.

“We can do it the easy way, or the hard way - and the easy way is always better,” Trump warned Moscow.

“Before I even arrive at the Oval Office, shortly after we win the presidency, I will have the horrible war between Russia and Ukraine settled,” Mr. Trump vowed in a June rally. “I will get it settled before I even become president,” he said during his televised debate with Vice President Kamala Harris in September. “I will settle Russia-Ukraine while I’m president-elect,” he said again during a podcast in October.

Update: Trump has frozen aid to Ukraine for 90 days military aid is unaffected. The reason Ukraine may dodge the worst of that action in terms of funding. Funds were already approved and transferred to the World Bank under the Biden adminstartation.

21 Jan 2025 - Trump’s aid freeze leaves weapons flowing to Ukraine

KYIV — In one of his first acts as president, Donald Trump froze all foreign aid for 90 days, but Kyiv may dodge the worst of that action, Ukrainian officials said Tuesday.

Ukraine’s military aid will also not be affected as Trump’s executive order applies to international assistance under the “development programs” of United Nations agencies, peacekeeping initiatives and refugee support programs, the Ukrainian State Disinformation Countering Center said in a statement Tuesday.
