In the tale of stable geniuses President Joe Biden in the ten days he has left before Trump's coronation has unleashed a series of sanctions. Under the cover of the U.S Treasury Department. The Treasury Department has imposed sweeping sanctions on the Russian oil industry including 180 vessels.

10 Jan 2025 - US Treasury imposes ‘sweeping’ sanctions on Russian oil industry

The US Treasury Department on Friday announced a fresh round of sanctions against Russia, imposed in conjunction with the UK. The restrictions target Russia’s oil industry, including two major producers – Gazprom Neft and Surgutneftegaz – as well as their subsidiaries and entities providing various services to both oil companies, including insurance and transportation.

“The United States is taking sweeping action against Russia’s key source of revenue,” Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said in a statement accompanying the announcement. “With today’s actions, we are ratcheting up the sanctions risk associated with Russia’s oil trade, including shipping and financial facilitation in support of Russia’s oil exports.”

The Treasury also issued a determination allowing American authorities to impose sanctions against “any person determined to operate or have operated in the energy sector” of Russia.

The latest round of sanctions also targeted more than 180 vessels, largely oil tankers, linked to what the US describes as a “shadow fleet” of Russia-based operators used to ship Russian oil.

The brilliance of President Joe Biden should not be underestimated in annoying three major countries China, India, and Russia. The genius antics will always be a win-win situation. The U.S. or the Treasury Department that runs the country is possibly seeking to give only now America more leverage to end the war after supplying over 170 billion in weapons/aid to Ukraine. Weapons sales are always a stable business for the weapon industries but the energy sector is obviously a weak spot in trying to stop a war.

10 Jan 2025 - China and India Stand To Lose From U.S. Sanctions on Russian Oil Trade

The United States is set to impose some of the harshest sanctions yet on Russia's oil industry, Reuters has reported. According to a purported U.S. Treasury document circulating among traders in Europe and Asia, some 180 vessels, several senior Russian oil executives, dozens of traders and two major oil companies are targeted by the sanctions. If enacted, the sanctions would severely disrupt Russian oil exports to India and China--the biggest buyers of Russian crude. The sanctions could also give Trump more leverage in future negotiations as he tries to end the war in Ukraine.

Truly only a stable genius of the rarest caliber why pretending to be demented or not with it could make such a move.

10 Jan 2025 - Why Is Biden Going After Russian Energy Now?

Even those countries that might be expected to bristle at restrictions on Russian oil trade—China, India, and Turkey have outdone themselves by snapping up cheap Russian crude oil and oil products during the war—have little to fear from the latest U.S. moves. Reuters reported this week that a major Chinese port had already moved to ban U.S.-sanctioned oil tankers. India has even less to fear because the more untouchable Russia’s oil exports become, the cheaper they potentially are.

Russia continues to act like a shrinking violet and hides behind the stable genius of President Joe Biden for their comments on the world stage. Money talks BS walks.

10 Jan 2025 - Moscow comments on latest US sanctions

President Joe Biden has left “a messy” trail in history, the Russian Foreign Ministry has said

US President Joe Biden’s only legacy will be the “mess” he leaves behind, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said in response to Washington announcing new oil- and gas-related sanctions on Moscow.

In addition to major oil and gas producers, the US has targeted more than 30 oilfield service providers, insurance companies, and over 180 vessels used to deliver Russian oil. That so-called “shadow fleet” has continued to operate after the US and its allies banned Russian ships from obtaining insurance in the West and tried to impose a price cap on oil sales, to no effect.
