Israel has been at war with Hamas since 7 Oct 2023. After a major and brutal terrorist attack by Hamas on civilians that left over 1300 dead.

2023 Israel–Hamas war

Israel began clearing Hamas forces from affected areas and conducting airstrikes in the Gaza Strip,[66] which have killed 2,750 Palestinians as of 15 October.[16] The United Nations reported that around 1 million Palestinians, nearly half of Gaza's population, have been internally displaced.[67] Fears of a humanitarian crisis were heightened after Israel cut off food, water, electricity, and fuel supplies to Gaza, which had already been blockaded by both Egypt and Israel.[68][69] Israel sent messages urging 1.1 million Gazans to evacuate northern Gaza, while Hamas called on residents to stay in their homes and blocked roads leading south.[70][71][72] The United Nations and many countries called for an immediate ceasefire.[73] Human rights groups called for the intake of Gazan refugees caused by the war.[74][75]

At least 44 nations denounced Hamas and explicitly decried its conduct as "terrorism", including a joint statement by the United States, France, Britain, Italy, and Germany.[76][77][78] In contrast, countries across the Middle East called for de-escalation[77] and decried Israel's decades-long occupation of the Palestinian territories as the root cause.

Israel's response is in disbelief by some. A terror campaign of bombings. The way IDF tweeted it on the 13 Oct 2023 was. "So far, the IDF has dropped about 6000 bombs against Hamas targets." but I have linked to a news report about Gaza's population density with regards to the bombings. Gaza 41 km (25 mi) long, from 6 to 12 km (3.7 to 7.5 mi) wide, total area of 365 sq km.

17 Oct 2023 - Even refugee camps aren’t safe from Israeli bombs in Gaza

More than 2,300 Palestinians, mostly civilians, have been killed as Israel targets homes in crowded areas.

A day later, on October 11, the Israeli army boasted that 6,000 bombs weighing a combined 4,000 tonnes had been dropped on Gaza, one of the world’s most densely populated regions where 2.2 million people live on a 365sq-km (140sq-mile) strip of land

If you want to maybe get an idea of how densely populated Gaza is. This comparison to US cities might help.

17 Oct 2023 - Visualizing the size of Gaza City compared with U.S. cities

The Gaza Strip has almost exactly the same land area as Las Vegas but more than three times the population. Its largest city, Gaza City, is more tightly packed than New York City, with more than 650,000 people living within its 18 square miles.

18 Oct 2023 Hamas blames US for deadly hospital strike

Washington has given “unlimited cover” to Israel since its air campaign against Gaza began, militant leader Ismail Haniyeh said.

By enabling Israel’s “brutality,” the US is ultimately responsible for the bombing of the Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh has declared. Haniyeh said that the bombing would “constitute a turning point” in his group’s struggle against the Jewish state.

So it is with some of that context. I consider some, read-between-the-lines comments coming out of Russia (maybe/maybe not). First, it will help you understand that at various times. I have heard of Rabbi's promoting Israel as the safest place in the world. Due to being God's chosen people and Israel being the land of his chosen people.

1991 - The Safest Place in the World

At the very outset of the current Gulf episode, the Lubavitcher Rebbe Shlita pointed out the contemporary relevance of a Midrashic passage1 that describes an international crisis which erupts in the Gulf zone in the year in which Mashiach will be revealed — a crisis that strikes panic among the great powers, and provokes the Jewish people to ask, “Where shall we go?”

The same passage goes on to say that the Almighty will answer them: “My children, have no fear. Whatever I have done, I have done only for your sake. Why are you afraid? Have no fear: the time for your redemption has arrived!”

How much more so does it apply in regard to Eretz Yisrael, G‑d’s chosen land, of which it is written, “the eyes of G‑d are always upon it, from the beginning of the year to its end.” There is no safer place in the world today than Eretz Yisrael. Heaven forbid that anyone living in Eretz Yisrael should think of leaving at this time. On the contrary, whoever is planning to visit Eretz Yisrael, should go without fear and should let others know of his trip as well, for this will raise the confidence of the Jewish people throughout the world.

The above is particularly true because of the great merit of the Jewish people today.

So I wonder if a story like this is not Russia taking a swipe at Israel. That you have gone too far and you are not safe. It came with some nice backhanders. Perhaps a Russian sense of humor but I did kind of enjoy the read thou I am not Russian.

18 Oct 2023 - Russia ‘safest country in Europe’ – senator

Russians who left their country will return once they realize that other European countries are more dangerous, said Sergey Tsekov

“They themselves must compare their lives outside the country and in Russia. A normal person should understand that Russia is now the safest country in the world to live. At least among European countries. We need to explain that everything is fine with us. I think they will return, and many are returning,” he said.

However, the senator noted that some of those who choose to come back to Russia could face criminal charges for the things they’ve done and said while they were abroad.

“There are also those who have talked themselves into decent court sentences. They will need to be detained and tried. Those who helped the armed forces of Ukraine. They need to be punished. They should receive a significant punishment for this,” the politician insisted.

In terms of Israel being safe. He who makes a golden calf entertains death and it took a Moses to save them. What are Israel and Hamas making today? Loved ones killed/murdered and wounds that travel deep. Are there others with reprisals waiting on the sidelines with an evil to come?

Isaiah 57:1 New Living Translation - Good people pass away; the godly often die before their time. But no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come.

There ain't no rest(peace) for the wicked....

I felt like I should do a bit more explaining on the title of this thread. Especially the part where I coined the phrase Israel bites the hand that feeds it. Part of a prophecy if you will with the way. I have heard/read some Rabbi's discussing scripture. 'The face of the generation will be like the face of a dog.'

The last Mishnahin Sotah (9:15) says that at the end of history, “the face of the generation will be like the face of a dog.” Rabbi Ezriel Tauber zt”l explained the Mishnah by describing a man taking his dog for a walk.

Why This Generation MUST Reject Truth

Let us take a faith-based look at our generation, through the prism of the teachings of the Land of Israel's first modern-day chief rabbi, Rav Kook.'

Rabbi Zalman Baruch Melamed  - Shvat 19 5783

R. Yehuda says: [At that time] the hall of Sages will become a hall for prostitution, and the Galilee will be destroyed… The wisdom of scholars will diminish, and sin-fearing people will be despised. The face of the generation will be like the face of a dog in its impudence; and the truth will be missing [ne'ederet, based on Isaiah 59,15]; what does that mean? The Sages of the academy of Rav said: It means that truth will become like flocks [adarim] and scatter about.

Truth is the hand that Israel bites because the first causality of war is the truth. Hence Israel declared war for the first time since 1973 - 50 Years(Jubilee time frame but not a Jubilee year). The title became War And Israel Bites The Hand That Feeds It. Well, at least that is what I am saying today. Israel is at war as you know.

Isaiah 59:15 WEB Yes, truth is lacking; and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. Yahweh saw it, and it displeased him that there was no justice.
