Obadiah 1 is primarily about the fall of Edom which some view as America. However, the implications and how you choose to interpret Obadiah 1 bring us to correspond to certain passages in Revelation 18.

Obadiah 1:3-7

³ The pride of your heart has deceived you,  you who live in the clefts of the rocks  and make your home on the heights,
you who say to yourself,  ‘Who can bring me down to the ground?’
⁴ Though you soar like the eagle and make your nest among the stars,  from there I will bring you down,” declares the Lord.
⁵ “If thieves came to you, if robbers in the night— oh, what a disaster awaits you!— would they not steal only as much as they wanted?
If grape pickers came to you, would they not leave a few grapes?
⁶ But how Esau will be ransacked, his hidden treasures pillaged!
⁷ All your allies will force you to the border; your friends will deceive and overpower you; those who eat your bread will set a trap for you,
    but you will not detect it.

Revelation 18:4-8

⁴ Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “‘Come out of her, my people,’
    so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues;
⁵ for her sins are piled up to heaven,  and God has remembered her crimes.
⁶ Give back to her as she has given;  pay her back double for what she has done.
    Pour her a double portion from her own cup.
⁷ Give her as much torment and grief as the glory and luxury she gave herself.
In her heart she boasts, ‘I sit enthroned as queen.
I am not a widow; I will never mourn.’
⁸ Therefore in one day her plagues will overtake her: death, mourning and famine.
She will be consumed by fire, for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.

What are we talking about is the shield of Israel which is a carry-on in some ways from 1 Samual 8 where Israel demanded a king like the other nations. I have always wondered what John the Baptist meant when he said in Matthew 3 “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? ⁸ Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. ⁹ And do not think you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’

Who is he talking about when he says Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?

Matthew 3:1-7

In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea ² and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” ³ This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah:

⁴ John’s clothes were made of camel’s hair, and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey. ⁵ People went out to him from Jerusalem and all Judea and the whole region of the Jordan. ⁶ Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.

⁷ But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? ⁸ Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. ⁹ And do not think you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. ¹⁰ The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

This might have a host of implications in several regions. Effective attacks on Israel will most likely pressurize the American political system. How much this opens the door to shielded proxy war encounters against a crown jewel of an American political system with developing technology remains to be seen. As TACO Trump might say - all hell will break loose if you don't stop.
