Matthew 11:14 And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come.

Verses like this tend to take me down a rabbit hole where I go. Does it mean this, which goes to that? So I end up looking back at my conjecture. Then I go I don't think that is correct but still can't get away from the possibility it could be possible.

So what am getting at, Elijah in the Old Testament came in the spirit of Elijah but in the New Testament Elijah does not come in the spirit of Elijah. He comes in the spirit of Jesus Christ. Which to me makes a bit more sense as to why they could not recognize Elijah hence - if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come.

Here are a couple of verses you might like to keep in the back of your mind about what I am getting at as you watch the video.

1 Peter 1:11  seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow.
Romans 8:2  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.
Galatians 4:6 Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!”
