Part of me is a fan of the Aussie Cossack and part of me is not. Like a lot of people or subjects I post about I don't tend to agree with everything. One thing I tend to find with the Aussie Cossack you can be a fan of one of the threads he is talking/reporting on. Then he can suddenly drop a tangent discussion and you can be left saying this is not really me or get that should I be involved with this feeling.

So the discussion has moved to the Wagner Group. Now given that the first causality of war is the truth I will post what the WIKI has about them but ultimately if your government makes a comment you would have to decide what to accept as the truth.

I also wanted to mention his video below. Mentioning the names of Australian and New Zealand mercenaries in Ukraine represents intel. Who knows where that intel came from? The Russian intelligence agencies or the Australian Government's website might have listed Australians who are still in Ukraine.  So I wonder if there are possible narratives in the background or lines of communications that would be above the Aussie Cossack's pay grade. Not necessarily a problem till it is.

I guess the Wagner Group must watch Rumble when they have some downtime.

Wagner Group - Wikipedia

The Wagner Group (Russian: Группа Вагнера, tr. Gruppa Vagnera), also known as PMC Wagner[3] (Russian: ЧВК[a] «Вагнер», tr. ChVK «Vagner»[49]; lit.'Wagner Private Military Company'), is a Russian paramilitary organization.[3] It is variously described as a private military company (PMC), a network of mercenaries, or a de facto private army of Russian President Vladimir Putin.[3][50] The group operates beyond the law in Russia, where private military contractors are officially forbidden.[51][52][50] While the Wagner Group itself is not ideologically driven,[53][54] various elements of Wagner have been linked to neo-Nazism and far-right extremism.[3][55][56]

The group came to prominence during the Donbas war in Ukraine, where it helped pro-Russian separatist forces of the self-declared Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics from 2014 to 2015.[3] Its contractors have reportedly taken part in various conflicts around the world, including the civil wars in Syria, Libya, the Central African Republic, and Mali, often fighting on the side of forces aligned with the Russian government.[3] Wagner operatives have committed war crimes in areas where they are deployed.[3][57][58] The accusations include rape and robbery of civilians,[59] and torturing accused deserters.[60][61]

Because it operates in support of Russian interests, receives military equipment from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) and uses installations of MoD for training, Wagner Group is frequently considered a de facto unit of the MoD or Russia's military intelligence agency, the GRU.[62]

It is widely speculated that the Wagner Group is used by the Russian government to allow for plausible deniability in certain conflicts, and to obscure from the public the number of casualties and financial costs of Russia's foreign interventions.[63] It has played a significant role in the Russian invasion of Ukraine, where, among other activities, it has been reportedly deployed to assassinate Ukrainian leaders,[64] and has recruited prisoners and convicts for frontline combat.[65][66] In December 2022, Pentagon's John Kirby claimed Wagner group has 50,000 fighters in Ukraine, including 10,000 contractors and 40,000 convicts.[67] Others put the number of recruited prisoners at more than 20,000,[68] with the overall number of PMCs present in Ukraine estimated at 20,000.[69]

After years of denying links to the Wagner group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, a businessman with close links to Putin, admitted in September 2022 that he "founded" the paramilitary group.[70][71]
