Petition To Ban Australian Politicians From Speaking At Australian ANZAC Services

Rationale:
While faith in government may be for the young, many Australians have observed over the years a political landscape often marked by perceived manipulation, self-interest, partisan maneuvering, and controversial decisions that may risk Australia’s sovereignty. These patterns run counter to the values of courage, loyalty, integrity, and sacrifice for which the ANZACs fought and died.

The focus must remain on safeguarding the memory of, and honoring, those who protected Australia and its values. Politicians and former politicians, regardless of party affiliation, should not be granted speaking roles at ANZAC services, as their participation could unintentionally evoke thoughts of political conflict or external influence. The occasion should remain solely dedicated to honoring our service members and the enduring legacy of the ANZAC spirit.

We therefore request all relevant authorities to ensure that ANZAC Day services across Australia remain non-political in nature, including by avoiding speeches by current or former politicians.
