Why now? It is being reported that Marjorie Taylor Greene is voicing an opinion that NATO and the U.S. are fighting a proxy war against Russia through Ukraine. These arguments have been around for the last 4 years since the full-scale conflict started.
However, NATO insists that its passive assistance—training troops, providing weapons, targeting information, tactics, and seemingly acting as a staging, reactive, and/or real-time supply line with weapons, management, intelligence, and marketing to situations on the ground—does not reach the definition of being in a proxy war against Russia.
